Arrived in Delhi and were driven in some luxury to the Imperial Hotel - a very smart building with beautifully decorated rooms.In the evening we chilled at a restaurant in the hotel called 'The Silk Route', reputed to be one of the top 10 restaurants in the world. The decoration was exquisite with hand-painted murals depicting scenes from the Silk Route. It apparently took seven years to build.
The food was to the same standard as the decoration with a an eclectic mix of Asian dishes. I had lamb with garum masala, coconut milk Kerala style while Mrs M had a similar vegetarian dish. Superb.
