Oman: the airport again

The desks at Muscat International were almost empty and we anticipated the usual smooth check-in. Unfortunately, the lady at the desk had only attended the 'Rules are Rules' course and not the 'Common Sense' course. She was unable to sanction three bags (for two elderly passengers) on a BA flight, despite the fact that the combined weight of the three bags was about the same as Flossie's case in January. I was pondering ways to comply with the rules (such as cellophane wrapping two bags together to make one) when after a half-an-hour wait, an icy BA representative appeared and agreed that the consignment was acceptable. There's a surprise.

As we waved goodbye, we realised we should have brought tea and sandwiches and stayed at the airport for our next group on Wednesday.
