Oman: home again

Sporting a bit of a hangover, the Etihad lady with sparkly eye shadow tried to confuse me with false check-in logic and non sequiturs.

After take-off, part of the in-flight entertainment was watching the chap diagonally opposite who was completely unaware of anyone else's personal space. The large gentleman behind him had the TV screen just a few centimetres from his face and he made repeated, but useless, attempts to push the seat away so he could breathe.

The second leg from Abu Dhabi started dramatically as some seats were double or even triple booked (including mine). If only they could have seen themselves arguing over a seat.

An hour later, I was back in the cool, slightly fishy air of Muscat. Welcome home.

I have to say I am particularly impressed with the new airport immigration procedures requiring only a resident’s card and fingerprint scan.

An excellent week.
