The car was loaded with bags and travel sandwiches for a few days on Pulau Basar with Little Miss M who arrived earlier in the week. As we arrived at the Teluk Iskandar Inn outside Mersing for an overnight stop, a number of Police motorcyclists forced us off the road to clear the way for the Sultan of Johor’s enormous cavalcade that included every type of car including an ice cream van. In the evening, we walked to the Green House Part II restaurant which serves simple Thai food. The new American owner said he would downgrade our compliments to the chef in an attempt to improve his game.
