Indonesia: Seribu Rasa - Jakarta

Mandailing beef curry - Seribu Rasa, Jakarta
The centre of Jakarta is full of the usual posh hotels, empty malls and restaurants. With little time to search for local food, I found the ‘Seribu Rasa’ which serves a blend of Indonesian, Malay and Peranaken food.

The elegant modern minimalist building includes several different rooms organised around central water gardens and tropical plants. My Mandailing beef curry was soft and delightful and incredibly cheap at just over £5.00. It was not difficult to understand why the restaurant was almost full by the time I departed.
