To mark what seems to be an annual increment in my age, Mrs M had the painting we bought in Kathmandu (see below) framed.I remembered (yes, I was surprised too Flossie) they were called something like a South African President so a bit of a rummage on the Internet came up with 'mandala' which is a Buddhist or Hindu pictorial representation of the world or the self, used in meditation and Tantric rituals.
