Oman: peas

Test smoofle-woofleMaybe Floss was right....we have been away for too long. During evening meal preparation (a nice bit of fish with Omani baharat spices) I reached for the frozen petit pois which came from a local supermarket selling a few UK brands. The 340g packet, sufficient for two less-than-generous meals was priced at £1.15! The packet tried to soften the blow by stating that this represented 'great value'. Eh? Don't care if they were 'carefully selected succulent, tiny peas' that does that represent value in my book. I suppose we were stupid enough to pay that much. How much do other things cost back home I wonder??

After a few hours reflection, I have realised that I have just scanned a packet of peas. I was angry.
