This sketch of Holland Village was completed after work over a couple of days with a bit more pencil shading today. On the second day, the juice bar at the bottom right disappeared leaving a gaping concrete hole. Mrs M doesn't like the garish and blocky colours, but what does she know, she didn't even realise there was a Windmill in Holland Village.

I was just wondering... how do you make your sketches? What materials do you use I mean, and in what order?
Still silently reading along:)
OP - I'm still experimenting with different papers, pencils, pens, inks and paint. Most of the time, I use waterproof pens such as the Uniball Eye (fine) to which you can add watercolour over the top. I used to draw in pencil first, but I have more-or-less stopped using pencil, except on bigger drawings to make sure everything will fit. I'm not very good with watercolour, but I keep trying.
I'm leaving Singapore in a couple of weeks to return to England after 14 years. This blog will mutate into something different, so watch this space.....and thanks for reading!
Mr Steve
Thank you for letting me know---I've always been rubbish at water colour but I like the ink sketches you do... I'd love to try it myself... so thank you.
Wow that'd be quite a change! Home (kind of) after years away... I'll keep reading. I'm sure it'll be interesting.
