Sri Lanka: Galle Face beach

Galle Face beach in Colombo is not perhaps the prettiest beach in Sri Lanka. A number of locals were playing in the early evening sea as one little boy peed on them from the top of the sea wall causing much amusement. Visitors took group photos on the small pier held together by bits of wood and rope. Areas of plastic inflatable toys were surrounded by anti-theft lines of string. Boys in matching tee-shirts peddled telephone cards. The food stands were starting to open – ‘eat that and you’ll not be going home tomorrow,’ said the driver. Sound advice.
