Aung San Suu Kyi's house on the southern shore of Lake Inya in Rangoon is situated behind sturdy fortifications enhanced by a burst of colour from a few National League for Democracy banners. With no space to park or pull over, we stopped on the busy road near the main gate so that I could take a few photos and jump back in the car before it was struck by swerving vehicles.
It had to be done.
