Oman: something strange on the beach

Dead fish, or parts of dead fish, are often encountered on the beach during early morning runs; spiky puffer fish, stiff tuna, pungent sardines and other unrecognisable components discarded by fishermen. This morning was no exception as I approached a dead ray. What was unusual was the number of other dead rays within about 50 metres of said creature. I counted sixteen. ‘That’s odd,’ I thought.
