Oman: a nice bit of architecture

After exploring some of the villages around Ghala and Al Ansab, I drove past the Grand Mosque which was looking splendid against the clear mountains behind. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get a shot of the mosque from the grounds without trees, building construction and lego-shaped mountains. My attention therefore turned to the building itself until I was politiely reminded by a very nice guard (centre of photo) that photography was not allowed at that time. I say very nice because after we had been chatting for a while in Arabic, he asked if I was from Egypt or Morocco. I think that was a compliment.
