I’ll say it again,.....what has happened to the Dive Centre? Five years ago it was idyllic. Today, the beach was full. The restaurant was full. The toilets were full. Cigarette smoke wafted over the beach. Chubby people roasted for hours in the sun turning visibly redder throughout the day. It’s like a holiday camp. Yep, definitely time to leave.
Due to the perishing conditions (!?), the chaps decided to hire wetsuits for a snork in Mermaid Bay where turtles, rays and squadrons of colourful fish played happily in the clear water.
Despite exhaustion, I rustled up a slow-cooked butterflied leg of lamb in the late evening which was consumed with much enthusiasm. The remnants went into the fridge to mature into a wonderful moist and smoky addition to sandwiches or salads.
