Singapore: carrot cake without carrot....or cake

Carrot cakeThe chap that runs the carrot cake stall in the Zion Road hawker centre is partially deaf and takes most of his orders by pointing (in English and Chinese). Although it's called carrot cake in English, it is actually made from Chinese radish or daikon. The word for daikon (萝卜- luóbo) and carrot (胡萝卜- húluóbo) are almost identical, hence the confusion.
