Singapore: Train etiquette

Dim Sum Dollies - MRTThis sign provides guidance on how to behave when using MRT. The 'Dim Sum Dollies', who feature in the poster, sing when the train is about to arrive in the station, at various intervals during your journey and also appear on small video monitors in some carriages.

The campaign is partly sponsored by the 'Singapore Kindness Movement' which developed from an idea by Lee Kuan Yew in the late 1970's to "Make courtesy our way of life". Since then, the SKM has run many campaigns to encourage Singaporeans to be more kind and considerate and to raise the standards of social behaviour.....except when behind the wheel.
