China: the cold air of Beijing

Air China’s well-worn Boeing 767 drifted gracefully onto the runway at Beijing International and the passengers departed from the musty cabin into the cool clean surroundings of the terminal buildings. A gentleman wearing a nice suit, clearly in charge of conveyor belt suitcase realignment, handed me my bag and I headed out into to the delightfully cold Beijing air.

After a bit of a vibrating toothbrush incident at the hotel, I strolled around the area in search of a quick bite. The staff in a backstreet restaurant selling ‘Tasty Family Meals’ were keen to assist bringing noodles and a plate of spicy liver.
