The building with the garish windows on the corner of River Valley Road and Hill St, which was once the Old Hill Street Police Station, is the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications, Information and & Arts (formerly abbreviated to MITA but now more correctly known as MICA).
Behind the neo-classical façade is a modern glass and marble atrium containing galleries, works of art, fountains, plants and very nice toilets.
Several groups of tourists with officious guides wandered through to point intellectually and take serious photographs with expensive cameras. They were later to be found keeping the Hooters bar maids busy on North Boat Quay.
Hooters serves ‘911-HOT’ Chicken Wings which, coincidentally is the number of windows in the MICA building. Honestly.
