There was time for one last visit before taking Mr Neil to the airport. The three Marina Bay Sands towers looked splendid in the early morning sun as we crossed Bayfront Avenue towards the ticketing office under the pointy end of the Sky Terrance.
The view from the observation deck was quite impressive on this occasion. At this time of the year, the bay is littered with white New Year 'wishing balls', but this year they had been arranged in neat lines in front of the Merlion. I presume this more orderly arrangement makes it easier for the sky wizards to read the messages.
Anyway, after a quick kopi and juice, we drove to the airport to place Mr Neil on a plane to Manila to be reunited with the lovely Cherrypie.
The next time we will see Mr Neil will probably be in a cosy pub somewhere in snowy Surrey.
