Japan: The Tokyo Sky Tree and Asakusa.

Mrs M’s sightseeing continued with a trip to the Tokyo Sky Tree. The tower was impressive but the view was limited due to dense cloud and mist. To compensate, visitors were rewarded with a couple of stickers of the Sky Tree mascots: Sorakara-chan who has star-shaped hair and a telescope because she descended from the stars, and a penguin with a 'weakness for new fads and fashions'. Mrs M was not impressed.

The tour included the district of Asakusa and the main attraction of the Sensoji temple. The tour would have ended at 7.30pm at Tokyo Station, but Mrs M’s belly clock had gone off - she left the tour early, much to the disappointment of the organiser.

A couple of hours later, Mrs M recounted the highlights of her traumatic day while I enjoyed a reasonable risotto in ‘Il Bollito’ near the hotel.
