Oman: Tokyo Taro restaurant

As we we’ve been hankering for bit of raw fish, we visited the Tokyo Taro restaurant in the Al Falaj hotel in Ruwi. Rather strange location at the top of a dreary looking hotel block, but the décor was very traditional and the atmosphere tranquil with softly spoken waitresses and an imposing Japanese maître d'. The food was very, very good, although expensive. We obviously arrived early as the place filled up after an hour with several Japanese groups - always a good sign. It would be nice to return to one of the private dining rooms with friends, but I fear we would be a party of two.
