Oman: Muscat Book Fair

At the Muscat International Book Fair there were lots of books. About 100,000 books actually, from twenty-seven countries and 523 publishers. Of these, exactly 5,276 (exactly mind) were new titles. This is the second time I have visited the fair which is aimed mostly at Arabic readers, reflected in the fact I was one of only two westerners in the enormous building (one more than last year). Children would tug on their parents in disbelief as I wandered up and down every aisle looking for bi-lingual books. I came away instead with two good books for improving handwriting.
