Oman: the day after

While out shopping for more batteries, we noted a few queues for bottled water. My suspicions were roused sufficiently to check the water tank on the roof which is not being filled up from the mains. Ah. A policy of minimal toilet flushing and 30-second showering has been introduced.

We spent most of the day dealing with our tree and plant damage which caused much amusement to the locals as large bushes on legs walked towards the communal rubbish bins. Each delivery of branches and leaves caused one of the local dustbin cats (we affectionately call 'Scabby Ginger puss') to recoil in horror.

Late afternoon the electricity was restored just in time to allow us to cool down after working outside. It was blissful sleeping in an air conditioned room that night.
