Oman: it's not smelly...really

At the fish market, we were immediately invited to assist in the dragging of an over-laden boat up the beach, which was declined for fear of profuse sweating. Flossie survived very well until we reached the fish preparation section at the back of the market where men sat in blood stained dishdashas hacking fish components with varying degrees of skill.

The late morning involved a trip to the tailors, material shop and shoe mart. Meanwhile Al and I took a long walk on the beach. Near Azaibah, we spotted a group of fishermen slowly winding in their catch contained in a U-shaped net out to sea. Rusty red trucks heaved the weighty catch slowly in while small boys simulated their fathers using wheel barrows and short nets. Very sweet.

Al spent the afternoon preparing dishes to go with the kingfish which was beautifully barbequed in the twilight of the evening.
